In the silence between words,
in the moments we share,
but don’t dare,
I feel it, deep and true,
yet the words, they linger.
Unsaid.
The heart beats the phrase,
as fear grips my tongue,
lost in this delicate, elegant maze.
It’s the fear of the unknown,
of what comes after
those words.
Will they change us,
define us,
in ways we can’t imagine?
I fear the vulnerability,
the rawness of exposed hearts,
and so, I hold back,
keeping my feelings close,
but not concealed.
